Golden Snail is one of those wonderful hand crafted black teas made in small production lots by a farm family in the mountains of Yunnan province. Golden tippy leaves are curled into little spiral shapes, hence the name Golden Snail. The aroma is magnificent, and the tea liquor is rich and smooth. You can enjoy this tea at any time of day.

Excellent

One of my all-time favorites. Others have described this tea so well it's hard to add anything more! Beautiful color. Lovely, rich flavor. Pure decadence! I love seeing the little tea-leaf "snails" unfurl in the teapot.

Exceeds expectations every time

I've been buying tea from Strand since 2007. I've tried most of the varieties in the catalog. I keep coming back to this Yunnan as a top 3 fave. It's both strong and smooth, robust enough to reheat in the microwave. It will have you jumping out of bed even on Monday mornings looking forward to that first cup.

The color alone is reason enough to enjoy this tea--

This along with Strand's Rose Congu are my two favorite black teas. During the winter I curl up with their Lapsong Souchong loaded with a plant-based creamer. This particular tea is rich, full, and without that tummy burn that Assams can sometimes have for me--maybe the tanins(?) I love the rich, malty and mild taste! I even find the tea leaves beautiful as they unfurl in my tea tiger.

So, in summary, if you despair of ever being able to drink black tea because of a sensitive stomach, give this tea a chance. It's a perfect excuse for a tea party.

This was a gift to my daughter who, like me, enjoys exceptional tea.

Do yourself a favor- order this!

This is my all-time favorite tea! When my local supplier stopped carrying it, I went online to find a new source. I was so pleased to find this at Strand! This tea is medium-bodied and exceptionally smooth, with an almost caramel-y aftertaste. It tastes great on its own, but we have also served it with cream and sugar. I have yet to serve this tea to anyone who didn't immediately ask what it was and where to get some. We drink it throughout the day, as it is pleasant breakfast tea replacement for those who don't need too brisk a tea, but it also makes a delightful afternoon or after dinner cup.
