  • Milk Oolong is one of those rare finds enjoyed by tea beginners and experts alike. It indeed has a light creamy flavor layered in on top of its orchid like notes and smooth taste. Our Jin Xuan Milk Oolong is high (mountain) grown in Taiwan at around 3500 feet in cool mists which alow the tea leaves to grow more slowly and develop better flavor. The method of processing was probably discovered by accident - and there are legends about it - but in modern times it basically involves initially processing the leaves in a very cool, air conditioned room, then suddenly steaming it just prior to final drying.

Strand Tea Staff rates it as a must try, even if you only try it once, just so you can see how unique and flavorful natural teas can be. Smells like buttered popcorn!

We are offering this tea in 1 oz, 2 oz, 4 oz and 8 oz sizes, as well as an attractive 1.1 lb (500 gm) factory vacuum pack.

Always love this tea…the light taste with milk overtones

This jin xuan oolong made me a better person

Many oolongs, particularly overly oxidized or heavily roasted oolongs, taste like Poseidon's jockstrap after he did 10,000 burpies in a scum-covered fishtank. This milk oolong tastes closer to Zeus' luscious, silken beard after he dipped it cereal milk: Lightly oxidized and steamed, the jin xuan oolong gives a buttery, creamy flavor palette with tasting notes of buttered popcorn, cereal milk, fresh olive oil, and your parents' approval of your life choices.

This tea changed my notions of what an oolong could taste like. When the company I bought it from fell into the depths of Moria during the pandemic, I employed two private investigators, a mystic seer, and a stalker who lives three blocks away in a tree to find the original source of this tea. My infernal search at last let me gaze upon the stars that shone upon Jack's door, and despite my having garnered the attention of the CIA he welcomed my tear-streaked face out of the cold and into the warm, velvety, buttery embrace of this milk oolong. After one sip, colors will be brighter, sounds more pleasant to the ear. After two sips you will gain self-acceptance of your innermost self, and after a full cup you qualify to become a minor god in the pantheon of Olympus.

I personally steep two heaping tsps at 185 F for 2 minutes and a small drop of honey, adding 30 seconds to each re-steep until you have desiccated the sweet nectar of the camellia sinensis leaves' divine ambrosia and you must lay them to rest at sea via flaming Viking burial.

Delicious

I received this as a sample and loved it so much that I ordered it next time to have as part of my permanent tea stash. It is flavorful and nuanced and so satisfying. It has quickly become a favorite of mine. I like my tea plain but I think this is robust enough to sweeten and add a splash of milk to if you wish

Excellent taste, no bitterness, mild caffeine, and it's from Taiwan, not China.

Rich and Complex

This is one of my favorite Strand oolong teas. The rich flavor, smoothness and complexity lasts the entire cup. I drink it neat, but my wife, a black tea drinker usually, enjoys it with oat milk and honey.
