In our opinion, the best cup of Kenya Black tea around. We opened a chest of the Kosabei TGFOP (Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe) and were immediately struck with a delicious fresh malty fragrance. Then brewed a delicious amber colored tea with hints of malt and berry. This can become an all day favorite since it drinks well by itself or can take milk and sweetener. Nicely twisted and rolled leaves with golden tips show that care was taken in making this tea.

Key ingredient in my homemade Chai

After trying different black teas making my own Chai I decided on this one because I love how it tastes. I use two black teas. A Ceylon and this one. Between the two, this one is my absolute favorite.

A 4th gen. Southerners favorite for iced tea!

I love a strong, malty black tea with clean, crisp, rich flavor and have left many a glass that didn't satisfy sweating on the table. Jack Strand's Kenya Kosabei Black loose tea is, to my taste, perfection. It's very malt forward and brews up strong for a deep flavored tea that I drink exclusively when I want iced tea, year round, nearly "unsweet" but for the tiniest bit of sugar. This balances the tannins and enhances the complex fruitiness, but is well short of sweetening. It's equally fine piping hot and strong with milk or not, but always that bare pinch of sugar.

Good flavor and aroma.

Not sure how to describe the distinctive Kenyan black tea flavor, but this tea has both good aroma (both the dry and the steeped tea) and good flavor, which is what I always look for in a tea.
