Description

Wild high mountain plants are hand harvested from indigenous Ancestral Tea Plants dating to 1697 in Taiwan. Shan Cha's wild characteristics have never been able to be cultivated commercially making this a rare and unique tea. This amazing tea has a mild aroma of honey baked oats and a slight floral scent of wild rose. The tea liquor is perfectly balanced and smooth with fruit notes similar to white peaches. Multiple steepings are recommended and we always serve it in wine glasses.

This is a totally hand picked, hand processed, hand batch tea from only wild plants. Only a few kilograms are made each year in July and August. If you are a true tea lover or want to give a special gift to a tea lover this is the tea for you.

The 500 gm factory package is quite a value.

Wow!

I took one sip of this tea and I knew I had to write a review. Black teas are not often on the top of my favorite list, but this tea is something special. What I can best describe as a savory mouthfeel is something to behold.

it is solid and smooth and very satisfying. This will definitely be part of my regular cadre of teas.

Most unique black tea

First time trying this black. It is one of the most unique black teas I’ve ever tasted. Has a heavy residue with notes of dried fruit, vanilla, and an almost cinnamony aftertaste. Great in its own and also takes milk/cream well. We like it as an after dinner or dessert tea. Too pricey to be a household staple for us but a nice occasional indulgence.

Very special

This tea is truly exceptional. To me, the flavor is more on the light side, like an afternoon tea, but very complex and intense. It does remind me of a really good wine, insofar as it is very harmonious and well balanced.
